Commemorate your pregnant form with a belly cast.
I will come to your house with everything needed to make your belly cast. I use quick setting plaster strips. Mom doesn’t have to stay still for very long, most of the time is set up and clean up. The whole appointment takes about an hour.
A basic cast is smoothed, sanded and and painted with gesso for durability.
A decorated cast is smoothed, sanded, and gessoed. Then, I can either leave it up to you to decorate, or you can give me ideas of how you would like it decorated for you.
A belly cast can be left in an elegant white finish or decorated many ways to match your decor.
You can make it a project with the members of your labor support team or baby shower guests.
Some moms let their other children decorate them.
I chose to put my child’s footprints in the “ribs” of the belly cast, where he liked so much to keep his little feet during pregnancy.
If you are wondering “Where would I put such a thing?” have no fear, You can take pictures of your newborn baby in the belly of the cast, or crawling over it, and hang the picture up.
They can be hung on a wall in the nursery, bedroom, or den; Rested against the wall, or put in the garage to be pulled out and tried “on” every so often.
